We provide our graduate students with a broad and firm foundation in knowledge of the historical past, the analysis and interpretation of primary and secondary sources, and the skills to succeed teaching at the high school or junior college levels as well as in several fields of public history: historic preservation, oral history, museums, archives, and cultural resources management.

Summary
We are seeking students who have a strong background in historical thinking and are ready to advance their knowledge and careers. We admit students with at least a 3.0 in history coursework into both the fall and spring semesters. Each semester we have a limited number of competitive graduate assistantships to help offset the costs of the MA while supporting students as they expand and diversify their resumes.
