Academics

Summary

RMU’s Speech-Language Pathology program focuses heavily on the medical side of the SLP world. Alongside your preparation for work in a school environment, you will train to practice in specialized medical settings. Our students get hands-on experience with advanced medical equipment and practices that many other programs simply do not offer. You will learn how to perform endoscopies, videostroboscopy, and other medical procedures that make you a more capable clinician. RMU’s onsite pro bono clinic offers students the opportunity to care for under-served populations in the community, while gaining rapid patient exposure. As early as their first semester, students will encounter a variety of clients including infants with feeding & swallowing issues, voice clients, and many others.
