The Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) Program embraces the concept of healthy occupational engagement as a determinant of health and acknowledges that the essence of healthy life participation lies in meaningful occupation, which is an experience unique to each person and the context in which they exist. The Carroll University Compact exhorts students to "contemplate" the obligation of considering thoughtfully the "values and ideals espoused" by others. Diversity is an inherent factor in the self, and is what makes one human. Therein lies the link between occupation and OT practice and it is this connection that drives the curricular philosophy and mission of the MOT program and creates an alliance with the university and the student standards set forth.
