What We Offer

Summary

Western New England University is located in a residential section of Springfield, MA, enrolling over 3,800 students. Renowned for personal attention and a culture of genuine student concern, the University offers nearly 50 undergraduate programs and over 30 graduate and professional programs through Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and the School of Law. The University is regionally accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) and is ranked as one of the Best National Universities in the U.S. New and World Report America’s Best Colleges. The University is the only private institution in western Massachusetts accredited by AACSB International, and among fewer than 5% of business schools in the world. This 30-credit online program is excellent preparation for the CPA exam, especially for Massachusetts and Connecticut. With four 11-week terms per academic year, the program can be completed in as little as one year. As you work to satisfy the requirements to become a CPA, you'll refine your knowledge of business and accounting through case studies, experiential exercises via simulations, and assessment performance. You will work with a faculty with strong ties to the industry and a curriculum that responds quickly to changes in regulations and practice, both of which contribute to a high rate of placement in the top national and regional accounting firms. An optional 9-credit Forensic Accounting/Fraud Investigation concentration provides an important area of specialization for accountants looking to expand career opportunities in what has been called the fastest-growing area of accounting.
