The MA in Media Studies at The American College of the Mediterranean provides students with a broad and interdisciplinary formation commencing from core training in communication theory and media research methods. The program leverages the site-specificity of its European campus with close ties to Spain and North Africa and combines theory and practice in order to prepare students for success in fields such as public relations, brand management, public affairs, nonprofit management, education, and research. The program emphasizes ethical, culturally-sensitive, and socially-responsible communication. What makes the Master of Arts in Media Studies at ACM unique is that beyond a solid grounding in communications theory and methods, students have the liberty of choosing a degree path that aligns with their personal interests and passions, while studying in an environment which exposes them to social, cultural, and political influences that in turn broadens those interests and passions. The program was designed specifically to allow the greatest flexibility possible, to leverage the Mediterranean location and the unique talents of the professors to allow students to follow their inspiration and passions while pursuing a bespoke degree tailored specifically by each student.

When you choose to participate in one of our graduate degree programs, you are choosing to become part of a unique group of young scholars who challenge the dominant discourses that plague our world today. Students are challenged to disentangle the complexities of racial identity, class struggle, and gender segregation in Europe and North Africa. ACM welcomes students from all backgrounds and identities and encourages them to fully engage in the rich and complicated history of the Mediterranean. Beyond the successful completion of an undergraduate degree, there are no prerequisites specific to the MA in Art History. Successful applicants show how their own interests and talents have led them to their paths of study and growth. The best preparation you can do for your application is to review our website, see what we do, and ask us questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
