Summary

The CUSM-SOM Master in Biomedical Sciences degree is an innovative program designed for students who wish to enhance their academic qualifications and candidacy for a career in healthcare, such as an MD, DO, DDS, PhD or other professions such as nursing, pharmacy, research, education, physician assistant and biomedical technology. Aligned with the University’s mission to inspire, motivate, and empower healthcare leaders of tomorrow; the CUSM MBS program emphasizes personal learning experiences for students. Benefits extend beyond the biomedical, academic preparation for careers in healthcare and biomedical fields with individualized career development advising, simulated interviews with experienced medical school faculty, and access to the Princeton Review for MCAT preparation. Additionally, MBS students with a 3.2 cumulative GPA in the first semester of the program and a minimum MCAT score of 504 will be offered an opportunity to interview for a position in our MD program. Please note: Students must independently submit an MD application via AMCAS.

    The CUSM-SOM Master in Biomedical Sciences degree is an innovative program designed for students who wish to enhance their academic qualifications and candidacy for a career in healthcare, such as an MD, DO, DDS, Ph.D. or other professions such as nursing, pharmacy, research, education, physician assistant and biomedical technology. Ideal applicants will communicate healthcare/research career goals that align with the mission and vision of CUSM. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a US regionally accredited undergraduate college or university, or a verified equivalent degree from a non-US accredited undergraduate university. Research experience is helpful, but not required and there are no specific course requirements in the natural sciences; however, prospective MBS students are responsible for determining and completing the prerequisites coursework for their target professional program and institution.
